<h2>My name is Nick Walden Poublon and I'm running for State Representative in House District 52!</h2><h3>I spent more than a decade as the Student Health Advisor at Portland State University where I found a passion for health policy and a dedication to healthcare for all.</h3>Until recently, I served as the 1st Vice-Chair of the Democratic Party of Clackamas County.I am a PCP in HD 52 where I have lived at the base of Mt. Hood for the last fifteen years. I currently serve as the president of the Oregon Trail Democrats, a grassroots organization of Democrats in House District 51 &amp; 52 that meets monthly and organizes on local issues. I also serve on the Democratic Party of Oregon's Rules Committee, as well as the DPO Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee.I’m driven by my commitment to my friends, family and community. I want to leave the world a better place than I found it and a large part of that means creating more opportunities for my nieces and nephews than I ever had myself. Affordable housing fosters economic stability, reduces homelessness, and supports upward mobility. Affordable housing is essential for a brighter future where everyone has the opportunity to lead fulfilling lives and contribute to the well being of society.

Affordable Housing

Here’s why healthcare matters to me:My mother passed away at 54 without insurance because she fell through the cracks.I survived a serious illness that required me to become an expert in how health insurance worked and quickly taught me how unnecessarily complex, confusing and uncertain our healthcare system is.For over a decade I served as the Student Health Advisor at Portland State University helping students navigate health policies and procedures.Healthcare for all can manage the fragmented services and bureaucratic complexity I’ve witnessed first hand and ultimately streamline the delivery of services to those who need it most.We cannot be naive and end the conversation at insurance. We have to see it all the way through to comprehensive healthcare for all.

We believe that access to meaningful healthcare and not just expensive health insurance is a fundamental right. Access to affordable healthcare ensures that no one is left behind, regardless of their economic status.

Healthcare for All

Protecting the environment is an urgent priority in our district and across the state. Addressing climate change, conserving biodiversity, and reducing pollution are vital steps toward a sustainable future.
